The Castles of the Loire

Touraine is a rich region, renowned for its numerous castles. During your stay in our guesthouse, be sure to visit the Loire Valley Castles.

Start by heading to the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau, 14km from your accommodation, built under the patronage of François I, starting in 1518. A symbol of the Renaissance and one of the most visited buildings in the region, it's an unmissable discovery. You'll enjoy a fascinating and fun tour that will delight young and old alike.

The Castles of Langeais and Ussé

The setting for the wedding of Charles VIII and Anne of Brittany, the Château de Langeais is an important monument in French history. About thirty minutes from your guesthouse, admire its medieval architecture, its ramparts, and its drawbridge.

Also located half an hour from our establishment, the Château d'Ussé is renowned for having inspired Charles Perrault in his tale "Sleeping Beauty." Magnificent and magical, it offers a journey through the ages, as well as a panoramic view of the banks of the Indre.

The Château de Chambord

Built in 1519 at the request of Francis I, King of France, the Château de Chambord is exceptional for its architecture and grounds. Just 1.5 hours from your charming guesthouse, you'll be immersed in history.

This will be an opportunity for you to admire the double helix staircase: two people can use it at the same time, without ever crossing paths!

The Château de Chenonceau and the Royal Château of Amboise

Also known as the "Château des Dames" (Ladies' Castle), the Château de Chenonceau was built on the Cher River. It was notably the home of Catherine de Medici and Diane de Poitiers.

Overlooking the Loire River, the Château d'Amboise was a royal residence, particularly from the Renaissance onward. It hosted Anne of Brittany and Francis I, among others. Leonardo da Vinci is buried in the chapel of this castle.

The Château and gardens of Villandry

While the Château de Villandry is admirable for its Renaissance architecture, it is above all its gardens that make its reputation. Laid out in terraces, they invite you to explore different worlds: medieval gardens, Renaissance gardens, French gardens, and more.

Only 25 kilometers separate you!
